April 22, 2015: Williams College recently celebrated the completion of the Class of 1966 Environmental Center with a public lecture by William Moomaw ’59 on April 17, and a dedication of the facility on April 18. The restoration and expansion of the historic building was designed with the goal of meeting the Living Building Challenge by generating all its own power, collecting and treating all the water it uses, and devoting 30% of its site to agricultural uses. This project was supported with grants from the Margaret A. Cargill Foundation and the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations.
